Naysa Rockmore has over 20 years of dancing and instructional experience. She has trained in liturgical, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, African and other dance forms. She has received training from Spellman College, Carol Walker Studios, Hampton University, Carmen Lindsey, Tayo Reed International, Sabrina McKenzie, Alvin Ailey’s Jody Foster and various others. She has danced and choreographed for T.D. Jakes Mega Fest, Chateau Elan Poetic Review by Darcova Triplett, Mayor Shirley’s Inauguration, Holy Hip-Hop Concert at Clark University, Miss Hampton Fashion Show, Seven Stages Cultural Explosion, Stonecrest and South Dekalb malls. Other dance experiences include high school pep rallies and programs, recitals, conferences, church services, concerts, programs at elderly care centers, shelters and other community events.
Naysa along with partners Verna Alibey and Devaan Bernard, founded the former ONE Dance and Performing Arts. ONE stood for One vision One mind One body One spirit One dance.... ONE’s mission was: “Liberating people and changing lives mentally, spiritually and physically through dance and performing arts which will leave a legacy that will impact nations…FOREVER!” Her company taught dance, drama, modeling and more.
In their first year of business they were nominated for the 2007 Gospel Choice Awards in the category of “Best Praise Dancers.”
She has since then founded the O.N.E. (One Nation Experience), in which she works as an independent dance contractor. The O.N.E. is a movement through dance and performing arts that seeks to bring all peoples together in unity under God to fulfill His purpose. The O.N.E. aims to encourage, enlighten, empower, uplift and liberate viewers of it’s productions. Her instructional experiences include Hope School’s of Excellence, Dekalb School of Technology and the Environment, Crossroads School, Johnson Recreation Center, New Birth Church where she served as Assistant Director of Born Again dance ministry and dance school, Labor of Love Church, New Piney Grove Church, Love and Grace, Love Thy Children, Childtime, Faith Walk Church, Dance Nia School and more. She has also taught and spoken at a number of dance events. In addition, Naysa has modeled for Redkin Hair Products, Sears, Vierge Modeling Troop, Dillard’s Department Store, Georgia State, Groove Wear, Miss Hampton University, National Council of Negro Women and a number of others. Naysa enjoys sharing her gifts and talents with the community through the arts and service.
Mrs. Rockmore has received accolades from viewers of her dance because of her ability to deliver inspiring dances. Her unique ability to work well with toddlers, kids, teens, adult women and men is well recognized. She understands that each student is an individual and makes special effort to meet students where they are. Her extreme patience with young students helps to nurture their creative spirits and fosters increased self esteem as they learn to believe in their unique abilities. Mrs. Rockmore says, “It is a wonderful blessing from God to be able to dance and share my gifts, but He has given me the honor and a privilege to teach.”
